Four Tips for Creating Healthy Boundaries

Our guest blogger for today, Gini Grey, shares four tips for creating healthy boundaries. Gini is the founder of Celebrate YourSelf, offering Transformational Sessions, Spiritual Energy Awareness audio programs and insightful writing. Her purpose and passion in life is to guide people to live from their center, that place of lightness and bigness. Learn more about Gini at http://www.ginigrey.com/

1. Stay centered and grounded. Being centered and grounded helps release stress. As you interact with others, stay connected to your own inner experience; feel your energy flow through your body, let any foreign energy release down your grounding cord, and stay centered in your own light vibration. Fill up with your own energy vibration until there’s no space for others’ problems and pain, but still room for compassion.

2. Be aware of energy boundaries. Our energy doesn’t end where our skin ends. We each have an electromagnetic field around us called the aura. As you own your aura, you create healthy boundaries around your personal space allowing your own energy to flow freely and prevent others’ energy from entering.

3. Tune into the difference between your emotions and other peoples’. Empaths take on other peoples’ emotions as if they were their own. A friend tells you her husband just filed for divorce and your heart aches. Your brother calls you in a panic about money problems and your stomach twists and turns. You attend a funeral and feel overwhelmed with grief. Like musical notes, each emotion has its own vibration unique to each person. Sadness is lighter than apathy; anger vibrates faster than sadness; amusement feels free and healing; joy is light and bright, and enthusiasm takes you even higher up the scale. Get to know your emotions by feeling them and allowing them to flow. With this awareness you will instantly know when you’ve taken on someone else’s sadness, anger or joy; it won’t feel like yours and it won’t feel comfortable. Then all you have to do is let it go, like taking off a scarf that isn’t yours.

4. Say goodbye to codependent behaviors. With big hearts, caretaking and rescuing becomes the norm for empaths. Instead of sensing and feeling another’s plight, use your clear seeing abilities to look at your loved one’s situation. See who they are beyond their problems and pain; see the spiritual being within who is connected to the Source of all life. Know that just as you have your path to walk, they have theirs. Don’t let their victim mask pull you in to taking on their problems. Toss away pity and sympathy, and give the gift of love by shining a light on others’ bigness. Allow your friends and family to grow, heal, and evolve through their own struggles and triumphs. If you feel tempted to jump in, reflect back on your life to see if you are projecting any of your own unhealed wounds. tal reading devices.

I find myself less and less emotional these days—even when something scary or bad that used to really bother me occurs. After so many years of being an emotional yo-yo, this new calmness is quite refreshing.

If you are facing an upsetting situation that you feel "should" trigger some emotional reaction from you and yet you are completely unmoved, this is a GOOD thing! It sure is a lot better than getting all wigged out with anxiety, depression, or grief! This kind of emotional "numbness" is a sign that you are integrating your past and present experiences and making progress as an empowered empath. It doesn't mean you don't care about someone or something. It means you are seeing them/it from a higher perspective that doesn't get rattled by the illusion of 3-D Earth drama. You are beginning to hold the frequency or vibration of Divine Love in 5-D consciousness.

Try to move past what you expect to be the "normal" response to any situation and simply let yourself feel what you feel (or don't feel) about it. If tears, sadness, or anger come, that's fine. If no emotion comes at all, then give yourself permission to let that be okay too.

Without spending time trying to process what is coming up or discover what past life issue you may be clearing, simply acknowledge the incident and any response (or lack thereof) and move on. The motto I like to use for this is: "I recognize  __[emotion/situation]_____ and I allow it to be integrated, healed, and forgiven at all levels."

Get Off of Auto Pilot and Start Creating Your Life on Purpose

Each of us is responsible for the situations we create, the people we choose to associate with, and the way we live our lives. As powerful spirit beings, we have control over our own energy, body, moods, perspective, and decisions. You can consciously choose to stop taking on other people’s heavy emotions and the negativity generated in crowds and start producing positive energy and thoughts. What you have done in the past has not worked, but you now have the tools to attract positive energy, heal yourself, and create a better life.
Finding freedom from the detrimental thoughts, feelings, and energy around you requires you to be aware of what’s going on with your own energy. The best way to do this is to get off “autopilot” and stop attracting energy by default. How? By regularly spending time in a spiritual effort to raise your vibration. Set aside time each day to ground yourself, get in touch with your own energy, and clear your field. Keep practicing the techniques in this book and try others as well. As you shift your thoughts, attitudes, and emotions in an upward direction, you will naturally start to attract wonderful circumstances into your life.

11-Minute Meditation DVD

Meditation is very helpful for getting centered and getting to know what is going on within you. Many times we get so busy that we forget to check in and sense our own energy. Meditation is the practice of taking the time to be still and listen to the voice within. In meditation we receive guidance, inspiration, ideas, and what I call “downloads” of information that we can use to consciously co-create our life and world. I like to use a candle when I meditate because gazing into the flame quiets my mind and allows me to shut out the distractions around me. I also enjoy burning incense, which helps clear my personal space. It has become so associated with my meditation practice that whenever I smell Nag Champa, I automatically want to stop what I’m doing and get still.

Meditation allows us to receive energy from higher realms and to run our own energy through our chakras. It would be nice to be able to meditate for hours a day, but unless you are a monk or nun you probably have a family to feed, kids to carpool, errands to run, and a career to tend to. If you are willing to take eleven minutes a day to meditate and work on your spiritual self, I highly recommend Twenty Gems, Journey to the Self by Denna Shelton. These DVDs and digital downloads can be played at work, on a laptop computer, and on your iPhone or iPad. The beautiful nature scenery, mesmerizing animations, soothing music, and positive affirmations combine to give a refreshing lift to your spirit.

What is your favorite meditation practice?

Empaths Pick Up Ghost Energy in Public Places

Ranoli is a holistic home inspector, home energy efficiency analyst, and real estate consultant whose mission is to help people heal their hearts and homes. She says that the thoughts and emotions of all who have ever been inside the house or walked on the land become part of the operating system for a property. Combine the earth energies with the emissions from electrical power lines, cell phone towers, and antennas and you have a very powerful program working either against you or for you.
Since empaths are sensitive to all types of energy, keeping your environment flowing with positive energy is very beneficial.

While writing my book, Whose Stuff Is This? ~ Finding Freedom from the Thoughts, Feelings, and Energy of Those Around You, I visited a restaurant in a section of downtown that has a lot of negative energy. As I parked my car in the public garage I suddenly felt vulnerable. I was walking down the sidewalk when I felt the presence of two malicious thugs behind me. The energy was so strong and repulsive, I turned around to see if someone was following me. I saw no one. I knew my guides were protecting me and I didn’t really feel afraid. I was simply aware. I thought no more about it as I met my husband for dinner.

On the way home, I had on the eyeglasses that I normally wear at my computer rather than the stronger prescription I need for nighttime driving. Plus, I experienced an unusual amount of traffic, my cell phone kept ringing, two people texted me, and one guy kept blowing his horn and flashing his lights at me. It wasn’t until I pulled off the interstate at my exit that I realized I had been driving without my headlights on.

Later that night when I went to bed, I felt angry and troubled. There had been a discrepancy about the bill and I thought I was still upset about that and my uneasy drive home. I let that energy go and felt better. However, I could not sleep because I kept sensing an unfamiliar presence. As I looked around my bedroom that moonlit night, I saw a dark cloud moving across the room. I didn’t feel concerned and only half believed there was really anything there. As I often do when I’m trying to fall asleep, I began meditating to help my body relax. My mind was racing, but I finally slept, only to awake at sunrise still feeling aggravated. I didn’t want to get up after only having five hours of sleep. So, I rolled over and dozed off.

When I got up an hour or so later I still felt perturbed. “What’s up with this?” I finally asked my guides. “You might want to do something about the entity you brought home last night.” It all made sense—the eerie presence near the parking garage, the crazy drive home, the aggravation. I immediately lit a sage bundle and smudged myself and my house and my car. That took care of the problem.

Depression as a Spiritual Transformation

Adapted from Dr. Judith Orloff’s new book “Emotional Freedom: Liberate Yourself From Negative Emotions and Transform Your Life” (Three Rivers Press, 2011)

Transforming depression is sacred work. My blood runs cold when I hear of people entering conventional psychotherapy for this emotion without a peep of spirituality mentioned as part of healing. Why is this such a damaging form of neglect? You deserve to have an illuminated appreciation of depression to justly dignify it.  Otherwise you’ll lack appropriate awe for what you’re going though. I believe, as do many spiritual traditions, that depression is the dark night of the soul, a term used by mystic priest Saint John of the Cross, describing his journey through despair to fuller holiness. Seeing depression this way reframes it. The "dark night" speaks to your soul’s development. It’s not just about a biochemical imbalance or a neglectful mother, though these may be the provokers. It’s a releasing of your ego's grasp on the psyche, permitting positive change that can prompt redefinition of the self. Since the period is profoundly unsettling, it’s commonly perceived as "darkness." Mystics consider the dark night of depression not a negative, but a test of faith, an occasion for transformation.

The dark night varies in intensity for each of us. It may last weeks or longer. Sometimes your depression may be all encompassing, or it can be less extreme. Whatever your experience of the dark night is, it’s invaluable to find a therapist or wise guide familiar with the divine nature of this terrain (see the Resources section). Then you won’t be at the mercy of some well-meaning but spiritually clueless practitioner who pathologizes your experience according to a dogmatic medical model. I stick close to my patients who’re undergoing the dark night. I want to lend a supportive, dependable voice. I want them to know they’re not alone, to show that depression leads to awakening. When patients say, “I’m questioning everything, I don’t know what’s important anymore,” I say, “Yes, to reevaluate is often excruciating, but it’s healthy.” When they say, “I feel too disconnected to meditate,” I say, “Don’t try to force yourself. You’ll get back to it again. To feel separate and adrift is a phase of depression.” My patient Pat lost her husband, the love of her life, when he suffered a fatal heart attack while being mugged. She asked me, “What kind of God would let this happen? How can I ever believe in one again?” I honored her anguish as it was. I responded, “Of course you can’t. There’s no need to.” Trying to make a case otherwise in the initial aftermath of such seemingly senseless, inconsolable loss would’ve been misguided and disrespectful.

I’m no Pollyanna, but what I’ve learned about the dark night is that it can organically incubate something drastically unexpected--and good--if you have the proper support. The emphatic “I can’ts” often evolve into surprising ways of viewing yourself and spirit even when everything in you argues against such possibility. After a year of grueling therapy, Pat bravely confronted her grief and depression, an ongoing pursuit. Having survived the very worst, she was now in a different place. Though she no longer defines God as a force outside herself, or indeed even uses the word, Pat now volunteers helping victims of violent crimes. Giving back is how she’s re-defined spirituality in this stage of our work together. Just as Pat sought my help to emerge from torment, not embittered but more whole, it’s imperative not to pass through the dark night alone. I wouldn’t wish that isolation on anyone. The danger of not reaching out is that you may stay painfully lost for a long time. During depression, you’ve got to look into eyes you trust. You’ve got to receive consistent, reliable counsel to keep moving ahead. Whenever I’ve been depressed, you’d better believe I’ve sought a spiritually canny guide to be there for me.

Oddly, the path to emotional freedom can sometimes wind in directions that may seem like the wrong way. I cherish Buddhist nun Pema Chodron’s position on the dark night:  “In the process of discovering our true nature, the journey goes down, not up, as if the mountain pointed toward the earth instead of the sky. We move down and down and down, and with us move millions of others, our companions in awakening …Right there we discover a love that will not die." During depression let this expanded awareness sanctify your passage and bring hope. Hope that depression will end. Hope that you’ll ascend from the depths, brighter, more open-hearted. Hope that you’ll gain deeper compassion for yourself and others.

Opening the Door to Spiritual Transformation

Spiritual transformation has to do with the inner life: the thoughts we think and the emotions that we feel. With an empath, these are already kicked into high gear so it’s a matter of calming them down and learning to manage them by seeing them as energy and knowing that you can do something about it.

Whenever you start feeling fearful, angry, or offended you have the power within you to make a choice. You have life force or creative power within you to shift your thoughts or emotion and feel something more positive and beneficial. I know it sounds magical, but you can do it if you just start practicing with one thing at a time. Catch the thoughts in your mind, pay attention when are you being critical and judgmental of yourself or others. Then ask for help from the holy spirit, angels, ascended masters, or the spirit beings that you feel comfortable with. Ask them to help you transform negative thoughts into peaceful, kind, and loving thoughts because whatever we send out, even as a thought, comes back to us and it activates the manifestation process. So if we’re thinking thoughts like “I’m depressed, or life is bad, or that person is so stupid,” you are judging that person, and this creates an energetic bomb to be launched on you as well as the other person. You could create a balm instead by hearing your own soul’s higher guidance in your thoughts and emotions. That’s why spiritual transformation or spiritual awakening has to begin from within your own thoughts and own emotions.

Here’s an example. Some business owner is convinced that people don’t like their products or that the products are not going to sell, this sends out a message to the universe and programs the whole situation around those products and business. Whatever thought we project is going to be picked up on by customers. I know that when I’m relaxed and allowing (in a non-resistant state of flow with Spirit), I know and believe that good things surround and support me. I can feel the presence of divine beings helping me.

There have been times when I’ve not been in that place and I feel like I’m not supported, that nobody cares, I’m always on my own, and I’m always having to take care of myself. Then, when I shift my beliefs, low and behold, things change! What are you thinking about today in regards to a situation that needs to be improved? What in your mind and feelings can shift to create a positive change?

Yvonne Perry is an empath coach, metaphysical teacher, spiritual author, and the host of We Are One in Spirit Podcast. In 2011, she published her book, Whose Stuff Is This? Finding Freedom of the Thoughts, Feelings, and Energy of Those Around You, in which she candidly discussed how we pick up energy around us, and how it affects us. It teaches how to identify our own energy versus the energy of people around us. She is available for private spiritual coaching and as a speaker for your group.

Divine Oneness

There are many spiritual paths that lead us “home” to our Creator. Regardless of what term we use to refer to this higher power or creative force, our ideas and beliefs are more similar that we realize. Our choice of terminology may divide us theologically and cause us to segregate into exclusive groups or denominations. Once we see how connected we really are and how we are all hoping to reach the same destination, we can learn to accept our oneness with God/Goddess/Source and learn to coexist peacefully as the sons and daughters of the Divine while respecting different ways of expressing our spiritual nature.

This topic is near and dear to my heart; thus, the name of my spiritual business and podcast: We Are One in Spirit. I have an opportunity to share this message on Sept 4th at 5 p.m. Pacific/6 p.m. Mountain/7 p.m. Central/8 p.m. Eastern. I hope you will be able to join me and Tonya Moyes as we discuss how we are one.  Enroll for free at http://yesiamwealth.com/

Overly Sensitive? What to Do About It!

So you’ve discovered that you are overly sensitive and you’re getting a great understanding of what’s your stuff and what belongs to someone else. You’ve read my first book, Whose Stuff Is This? ~ Finding Freedom from the Thoughts, Feelings, and Energy of Those Around You and you are having a great deal of success in managing energy overload. Now you realize there is a reason you have the gift of empathy and you want to know what to do with it. That’s where Shifting into Purer Consciousness comes in. It’s the next step to take as an empath. It teaches how to put your life back together and start accomplishing your spiritual mission as the Earth and humanity are rapidly shifting.
Those who are curious about what is being called the “end times” will appreciate the fresh approach to Bible and Mayan prophecies and the ideas regarding the ascension of Jesus Christ, who taught us that we could also ascend and not “taste” death. About the so called end times, you don’t have to look very far to see that something different is going on here on Earth. We’ve got more natural disasters then we have ever seen. People are losing jobs, relationships are shifting, careers are changing, government systems are failing, and the world economy is very unstable. More people are working from home and finding their true purpose and living from an authentic place.

In the midst of all this turmoil we are leaving one way of living behind and going to another way. There’s a gap between the two that is very scary. You may think you are about to be sucked into a pit or wondering if you are going to safely traverse the gap and find the magical bridge. Like Indiana Jones, you may be wondering when you take that first step will the bridge appear? It sure helps to have some kind of understanding about what’s going on energetically on the planet. These are some things I address in the first chapter of Shifting into Purer Consciousness I give scientific reasons as to how the Earth and our solar system is moving into its orbital path in alignment with the equator of the Milky Way Galaxy. In 2012, we are ending the Precession of the Equinoxes, which is bringing us through the last of the 12 zodiac signs. While this is the end of one way of living our lives, believing that we are separate from God, it is not the end of the Earth! Old things are passing away and all things are becoming new. Right now!

Yvonne Perry is a metaphysical author, spiritual coach, and teacher who helps others learn about oneness with Spirit through her books, teaching, and speaking. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Metaphysic from the American Institute of Holistic Theology.

Yvonne is the author of several books. Shifting into Purer Consciousness ~ Integrating Spiritual Transformation with the Human Experience is designed to make spiritual growth easier and quicker. (http://ShiftingintoPurerConsciousness.com) for details. More Than Meets the Eye: True Stories about Death, Dying and Afterlife addresses suicide, near-death experience, end of life decisions, euthanasia, and spirit visits from the “deceased.” (http://deathdyingafterlilfe.com) The Sid Series ~ A Collection of Holistic Stories for Children provides a role model for parents while entertaining children with stories that teach life lessons (http://WhoseStuffIsThis.com). We Are One in Spirit Interactive Podcast August 30

Earlier this year I began offering personal coaching for empathic people who need more understanding of how the gift of empathy operates and how to manage energy. My clients are reporting some wonderful benefits that they are receiving from these one-on-one services.

I want to help as many people as I can; however, I realize that not everyone can yet afford private sessions. That’s why I’m offering We Are One in Spirit interactive podcast sessions most Thursdays. This 1-hour call is also offered as a webinar that you can listen to online, which saves long distance fees and cell minutes!

My guest on the call this week is Lisa Barretta, the author of a fabulous work titled The Book of Transformation. It’s about the ascension process and in it Lisa lists many symptoms such as depression and anxiety that commonly affect people as their body’s DNA is being restructured to move into fifth dimensional consciousness.

This topic flows seamlessly with the subject of my latest book, Shifting into Purer Consciousness ~ Integrating Spiritual Transformation with the Human Experience; so, I thought Lisa would make a great partner for a call to help you understand why you may be having some strange sensations and spiritual gifts opening up. She will also give some tips to help you discern where you may be in the ascension process: quickening, transitioning, crowning, or birthing.

Lisa Barretta is a practicing astrologer, intuitive counselor, certified Reiki practitioner, and author of The Street Smart Psychic’s Guide to Getting a Good Reading. Lisa is also an executive producer for the documentary film, Surviving Death: A Paranormal Debate. www.lisabarretta.com

Join us on this call/webinar using the following information:

Characteristics of an Empath: Taking on the Physical Pain of Another Person

When I first began to realize that being an empath was having a detrimental effect upon me, I started using some of the methods that I describe in Chapter 9 of my book, Whose Stuff Is This? ~ Finding Freedom from the Thoughts, Feelings, and Energy of Those Around You, to keep from picking up the energy of others. But, there were still times when I was broadsided—like the time when our friends, Sally and Angie, were at our house having dinner with me and my husband. Here's that story...

I was talking about my work as a writer when all of a sudden my throat closed up and a stabbing pain hit me in my neck and upper chest. I grabbed my throat in a panic that caused Randy and Angie to think I was choking. I couldn’t swallow or speak to tell them what was wrong. Thankfully, Sally is an intuitive healer and recognized that I was not choking, but needed to be released from a psychic energy attack. She worked to clear me and when I could speak again, I had insight as to what had just happened. I had been considering ghostwriting a book for a man whose father had witnessed the assassination of President Kennedy. He was about to report the culprit to the authorities when he was attacked from behind, stabbed in the throat, and left to die in an alley. The client wanted me to write about what his father had shared with him in the months prior to his death. I had picked up the traumatic energy of a ghost!

That event was a big eye-opener for me. This business of being an empath had gone too far and it had to stop! I adopted new ways to protect myself with grounding and centering exercises that I share in Chapter 9 of my book for empaths. I meditated to receive energy from higher realms and learned how to run my own energy through my chakras.

I also detached from the outcome of my prayers. If I prayed for anyone, I detached myself from the person’s energy and did not allow myself to become emotionally involved. I would offer the energy of healing, but I no longer attempted to know the plan for another person’s soul.

I no longer attempt to usurp the free will of others as I had many times in my religious prayer efforts when I was trying to save the world. Instead, I started sending people divine love and light—an energy that they could use however they and God chose. Since I was directing a higher energy rather than sending out my own energy, I was not taking on the detrimental energy my prayer recipients were releasing from their blocked chakras or cells.

Empathy, Intimacy, and Your Inner Child

Sex is such a powerful force within us—the creative life force—and yet we are told by society how, when, and where we are allowed to express it. Being sexual is such a vital part of our Earth existence—aside from in vitro fertilization, how could a child be conceived without the joining of male and female bodies?

Why so much shame, guilt, and disdain regarding our sexuality? Why are we taught abstinence instead of responsible expression and personal fulfillment in sex education classes? Our prudent Victorian predecessors and religious authorities deemed it taboo to even mention the word sex much less to admit enjoying sensual pleasure. This futile attempt to “put a lid on it” causes an unhealthy repression of life force energy and our true selves. This energy must be expressed somehow; unfortunately, it many times comes forth as violent episodes of rage, manipulation, rape, and blatant destruction of the very planet that sustains our lives!

When we see ourselves as spiritual beings having a human body (an Earth suit for manifesting in the third dimension), we will understand sex and everything in our lives from a higher, more evolved spiritual perspective.

Today’s interactive group call will show you how the sacred energy of sex can be accessed and channeled for use in the ascension process (even if you don't have a partner). My guest, Julie McIntyre will share why we must stop repressing sexual energy and discover our authentic selves in order to experience intimacy with ourselves, our lovers, and our Creator.

Julie’s book, Sex and the Intelligence of the Heart, mentions three archetypes within each of us: the wounded inner child, the critical parent, and the predator. She will tell us what these are, how they influence our lives, and how we can learn to work with them to create an authentic life of joy.

A Shift toward Non-Violence

While writing my book, Shifting into Purer Consciousness ~ Integrating Spiritual Transformation with the Human Experience, I had a face-to-face encounter with my own health and longevity and how I was treating my body and the Earth.

My acidic diet had to change because it was destroying my body, negatively affecting my emotions, and interfering with my ability to receive clear spiritual guidance. Giving up meat was easy after listening to Dr. Will Tuttle’s audio book, The World Peace Diet. After overcoming severe adrenal fatigue, I could not return to the way I was eating before; and thankfully, the grace to make this permanent shift has been there every step of the way. I would not have been able to consistently maintain a plant-based, sugar-free, gluten-free eating plan prior to this shift. But that’s only half the reason. After learning how much animals suffer at the hands of humans, who think they must eat animals in order to survive, I could not contribute to the violence that brings a piece of meat to the dinner plate.

My friend, Lynn Serafinn, had her own non-violent epiphany about 35 years ago. She’s been a vegetarian for 35 years. She says it’s more than just food, although food is integral to our spiritual health; it’s about the lifestyle and the way we communicate. She has written a book, The 7 Graces of Marketing: how to heal humanity and the planet by changing the way we sell (see the Youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsBSDzTmgvM) that highlights the violence that is happening in business through competition, scarcity, manipulation, over consumption, and being wasteful. These things are creating violence, not much on people, but on the planet and on animals that must give up their homes and environment so we can indulge. Not only is this very irresponsible, it’s counterproductive to world peace. I see this changing. We as a human race are changing for the better.

Yvonne has been on a rapid consciousness journey this past year and hence the book she has just written, Shifting into Purer Consciousness ~ Integrating Spiritual Transformation with the Human Experience.

Happy Ending in 2012!

Publisher: Write On!, May 2012

I've always been a sucker for books that are open declarations of personal belief and fearlessly test the status quo. Yvonne Perry's new book, 'Shifting into Purer Consciousness' is such a book and comes straight from the heart; it is genuine and meant to help others struggling now. Her connection is pure and offers hopeful solutions that are prompted by heart-felt stirrings and beliefs that come from intuition and a sense of knowing that science cannot defy nor qualify. Research and science have their place but when it comes to December 21, 2012 - the author explains mysterious terminology and cosmic theory to support her view that there is a happy ending to 2012 rather than the sensationalized dark ending to the Mayan Calendar. She moves through the fear to find (and explain) her search for truth and belief that things will be better not worse. Many people are awakening, but even more are frightened and tormented by the physical and emotional struggles witnessed each day in personal daily lives and in the news. She will undoubtedly answer some unasked questions and comfort readers that have fears and concerns around December 21, 2012 with reasons for this fear and confusion, as well as the karma of the shift occurrence. It is defined by the author simply for anyone to read and understand - it just takes an open mind to find the way out of a mental fear trap.
'Shifting into Purer Consciousness' is a book that emerges from a generous spirit of caring - the only kind a truly empathetic person can offer. In it, the author addresses her own curiosity and disarms her reader with her natural giving style to help others deal with dramatic changes within and surrounding each person now on this globe. She does this as she takes the reader by the hand down her path and from the beginning you know her words come from transformational experiences. She wants you to feel ease and so compassionately explains the ways you can prepare and find your way through these times of un-calculated, unforeseen and seemingly unkind change. This is a clear path through the fog of confusion lined with charming simplicity - she lays out the steps that have helped her stay with love and prepare for what may come.
Yvonne's journey and her assumptions are supported throughout her journey of research and self examination by epiphanies rising from synchronistic events that all conscious readers are familiar with and know the power in such events. Once such realization Yvonne experienced was that eating meat, killing animals is violent. When she shifted out of eating animals, she supported a more gentle and loving vibration in her life. Though she is not judgmental, she includes that eating meat or not, is a personal choice. It makes sense though - hateful behavior is reflected in hateful life experiences.

Throughout the book, the author supports her findings with quotes from other writers as well as the Bible. It is clear that she intends to help others prepare for a seamless merging into our natural state - the state of infinite love and being. Her statements are supported throughout the book with quotes from other writers as well as the Bible. It is clear that she intends to help others prepare for a seamless merging into our natural state - the state of infinite love and being.

Shifting into Purer Consciousness' is a journey - both personal and intellectual that will prompt personal exploration and help many quickly shift out of despair and into hope; this book comes from a pure heart. In her new book, Yvonne shares her journey and paves the way for those willing to imagine something other than doom and gloom for the world, the Universe and our fate.

When you are reading this book, you know she is dedicated to provide answers to ease fear and encourage peaceful, positive growth with revolutionary solutions to navigate and join the many inspired thinkers preparing their light bodies for the coming shift. As a health counselor, meditation teacher and fan of Buddha, I appreciate her addressing diet and meditation as well as the basic Buddhist belief in non-duality. And she doesn't stop there, Yvonne doesn't leave anyone out, she quotes the Bible and other author's who have researched and experienced shifts in consciousness too. Her explanations of complex ideas and terms such as, aura's and Kundalini energy, are easy to grasp as her natural ease in communicating her thoughts are to teach and so directed to help you understand these terms without attachment to deep or difficult language or philosophy.

The author wholeheartedly embraces her journey as an Empath to hear the unspoken cries for help from the confused and frightened public. She answers this call with an innocent, non-secular, non-judgmental or trendy book that shows how to live better, purer and prepare for possibly a peak soulful event - the Ascension. She stays true to herself and her mission to help others help themselves. This is a very unique presentation of a topic many have explored. I enjoyed reading her almost purely enthusiastic book - her perception and respect of the reader is fresh, generous and spiritual.

Secrets For Sensitive People To Find Relationships That Work: Why Emotional Empaths May Stay Lonely Or Alone

Adapted from Dr. Judith Orloff’s book “Emotional Freedom: Liberate Yourself From Negative Emotions and Transform Your Life” (Three Rivers Press, 2011)

Loneliness gets to some more than others. But why it hangs on isn’t always apparent when read by traditional medical eyes. In my practice and workshops I’ve been struck by how many sensitive, empathic people who I call “emotional empaths” come to me, lonely, wanting a romantic partner, yet remaining single for years. Or else they’re in relationships but feel constantly fatigued and overwhelmed. The reason isn’t simply that “there aren’t enough emotionally available people ‘out there,’” nor is their burnout “neurotic.” Personally and professionally, I’ve discovered that something more is going on.

Emotional empaths are a species unto themselves. Whereas others may thrive on the togetherness of being a couple, for empaths like me, too much togetherness can be hard to take, may cause us to bolt. Why? We tend to intuit and absorb our partner’s energy, and become overloaded, anxious, or exhausted when we don’t have time to decompress in our own space. We’re super-responders; our sensory experience of relationship is the equivalent of feeling objects with fifty fingers instead of five. Energetically sensitive people unknowingly avoid romantic partnership because deep down they’re afraid of getting engulfed. Or else, they feel engulfed when coupled, a nerve-wracking, constrictive way to live. If this isn’t understood, empaths can stay perpetually lonely; we want companionship, but, paradoxically, it doesn’t feel safe. One empath-patient told me, “It helps explain why at thirty-two I’ve only had two serious relationships, each lasting less than a year.” Once we empaths learn to set boundaries and negotiate our energetic preferences, intimacy becomes possible.

For emotional empaths to be at ease in a relationship, the traditional paradigm for coupling must be redefined. Most of all, this means asserting your personal space needs--the physical and time limits you set with someone so you don’t feel they’re on top of you. Empaths can’t fully experience emotional freedom with another until they do this. Your space needs can vary with your situation, upbringing, and culture. My ideal distance to keep in public is at least an arm’s length. In doctors’ waiting rooms I’ll pile my purse and folders on the seats beside me to keep others away. With friends it’s about half that. With a mate it’s variable. Sometimes it’s rapture being wrapped in his arms; later I may need to be in a room of my own, shut away. One boyfriend who truly grasped the concept got me a “Keep Out” sign for my study door! For me, this was a sign of true love. All of us have an invisible energetic border that sets a comfort level. Identifying and communicating yours will prevent you from being bled dry by others. Then intimacy can flourish, even if you’ve felt suffocated before. Prospective mates or family members may seem like emotional vampires when you don’t know how to broach the issue of personal space. You may need to educate others--make clear that this isn’t about not loving them--but get the discussion going. Once you can, you’re able to build progressive relationships.

If you’re an empath or if the ordinary expectations of coupledom don’t jibe with you practice the following tips.

DEFINE YOUR PERSONAL SPACE NEEDS
Tips for empaths to feel at ease in a relationship

Tip 1. What to say to a potential mate
As you’re getting to know someone, share that you’re a sensitive person, that you periodically need quiet time. The right partner will be understanding; the wrong person will put you down for being “overly sensitive,” won’t respect your need.

Tip 2. Clarify your preferred sleep style
Traditionally, partners sleep in the same bed. However, some empaths never get used to this, no matter how caring a mate. Nothing personal; they just like their own sleep space. Speak up about your preferences. Feeling trapped in bed with someone, not getting a good night’s rest, is torture. Energy fields blend during sleep, which can overstimulate empaths. So, discuss options with your mate. Separate beds. Separate rooms. Sleeping together a few nights a week. Because non-empaths may feel lonely sleeping alone, make compromises when possible.

Tip 3. Negotiate your square footage needs
You may be thrilled about your beloved until you live together. Experiment with creative living conditions so your home isn’t a prison. Breathing room is mandatory. Ask yourself, “What space arrangements are optimal?” Having an area to retreat to, even if it’s a closet? A room divider? Separate bathrooms? Separate houses? I prefer having my own bedroom/office to retreat to. I also can see the beauty of separate wings or adjacent houses if affordable. Here’s why: conversations, scents, coughing, movement can feel intrusive. Even if my partner’s vibes are sublime, sometimes I’d rather not sense them even if they’re only hovering near me. I’m not just being finicky; it’s about maintaining well-being if I live with someone.

Tip 4. Travel wisely
Traveling with someone, you may want to have separate space too. Whether my companion is romantic or not, I’ll always have adjoining rooms with my own bathroom. If sharing a room is the only option, hanging a sheet as a room divider will help. “Out of sight” may make the heart grow fonder.

Tip 5. Take regular mini-breaks
Empaths require private downtime to regroup. Even a brief escape prevents emotional overload. Retreat for five minutes into the bathroom with the door shut. Take a stroll around the block. Read in a separate room. One patient told her boyfriend, “I need to disappear into a quiet room for ten minutes at a party, even if I’m having fun,” a form of self-care that he supports.

In my medical practice, I’ve seen this creative approach to relationships save marriages and make ongoing intimacies feel safe, even for emotional empaths (of all ages) who’ve been lonely and haven’t had a long-term partner before. Once you’re able to articulate your needs, emotional freedom in your relationships is possible

We Are Always Sending and Receiving Energy

Inhale, exhale. Whether it’s negative or positive, everyone is sending and receiving energy all the time. We are energy and so is everything else! Empaths tend to be a more sensitive to energy shifts.

An empath is someone who very keenly picks up the energy of others around them. Empaths are sensitive to the energy around them—environmental as well as the electronic and human energies.  Empaths are those you might call highly-sensitive people. They are the person in your family who cried a lot. They unknowingly carry burdens that belong to someone else; and that’s what causes so many problems for the empathic or very sensitive person. They don’t realize that what they are dealing with energetically is not their own stuff. They are so tuned in to energy around them that they pick up detrimental energy, and it’s causing all kinds of disturbances in their emotional, physical, and mental health.

All of her life, I was like a receptacle for all of the stuff that was going on around me as I carried energetic burdens for others. When I turned forty her life fell apart at the seams emotionally. I had been praying a lot for others, and carrying their burdens in prayer without realizing that I was taking them to God and then picking them back up and carrying them as if I was the one who could do fix the problem or do something to change another person’s life.

As a result, I became very depressed. I was stuck in a very limited, fear-based fundamental religion that had taught me to be subservient in my relationship with my first husband. That was taking a toll on me emotionally in addition to the sensitivity that I had as an empath. I wanted to break free and make some changes to become the empowered woman I now am. That was the beginning of my spiritual shift in the late 1990s, but trying to make those shifts ended up destroying what was left of a troubled marriage. I knew I was not going to be able to grow spiritually if I stayed in that marriage and remained under a suppressive mindset that required me as a wife to submit to my husband in all things without question and do what the church says.

Choosing a new path led me to understand my spiritual or psychic gift of energy sensitivity. Without boundaries, I had been leaking energy everywhere, and was picking up energy that was detrimental to me. Over a period of about ten years I learned some grounding and centering techniques and began practicing protective exercises to get well. My first book, Whose Stuff Is This? ~ Finding Freedom from the Thoughts, Feelings, and Energy of Those Around You, includes those methods that had proven effective for her. That book also contains the story of my journey as an untrained empath, which allows others to witness how energy mismanagement can take its toll on a person. I also give examples to help remedy the situations. It’s a very transforming and powerful book. It’s the manual that I wish I’d had ten years ago!

Are You Having Depression?

I’ve said it many times that we are changing and that old, unresolved issues are coming up to be healed. As a result, some people are in a dark place and not sure what is going on in their lives. Maybe they are going through depression and can’t seem to get out of it.
Whenever our emotions are in distress or our bodies manifest an illness, they are giving us a message that we need to pay attention to. The accelerated energy that is near the earth now due to our planetary alignment is causing us to begin shifting our beliefs—conscious and unconscious.

Anything that no longer serves our highest good is rising to the surface to be dealt with. So if you are going through an illness, mental disturbance, or emotional turmoil such as a loss of job, there’s something coming to the light. It’s wise to pay attention to this message. Go ahead and delve into the emotion and see what Spirit’s message is and ask “How can I change this? What do I need to know or let go of in order to receive the gift in this situation?” It’s not a matter of avoiding the symptoms or say, “I must get healed or else!” Instead, ask. “What is the lesson in this experience?” or “What is the truth in this illness or discomfort I’m having?” or “What needs to shift within my thinking or subconscious beliefs?”

I went through depression in 1999 as was going through a divorce after 22 years of marriage. As I look back, I realize that my empathic abilities we out of control and I needed to learn how to manage energy. There were some things that I had to change within myself in order to get past the depression, but as I look back, I see those were some of the sweetest times of fellowship with Spirit. Being at a place where I had to go inward to discover what I truly believed was very beneficial. I had to own my truth for myself rather than just accepting what had been handed down to me from my family, society, or church. It was a great spiritual reckoning that brought me to a place of being able to define my personal truth.

There’s a gift in depression and hardship; even though it looks bad on the outside, if you will walk through it you will find it leads you to the sacred heart space to find your personal treasure. What I mean by being non-resistant is to look at what’s occurring for you. Don’t ignore it, don’t pretend like it’s not there, don’t cover it up or medicate with recreational drugs, alcohol, food, or other substances to avoid the pain. Instead, look at what the pain is trying to teach you. Find the gift in the moment of suffering and know that you can shift your life experience by shifting your attitude, thoughts, beliefs, and emotions.

New Sensations and Vision in Spiritual Awakening

Seeing auras, having new sensations, being empathic, and seeing different colors you’ve never seen before are all signs of spiritual awakening. If you are an empath you may be like a forerunner among your friends and family as you seem to spiritually open up ahead of others.

We are awakening to other dimensions than just our 3D world. Our physical eyes are opening up, our spiritual eyes are opening up, our sensate being is opening up we’re feeling things, seeing things, hearing things that we’ve not heard, seen, or felt before. It’s not the floaties you see in your eye, and it’s not something in your Eye. You see something shimmering in your vision then all of a sudden it’s gone and you wonder “What was that?”

Or you see things in your peripheral vision and when you turn your head, there’s nothing there, Yet, you know you saw something. Others are having body sensations, it which it feels like somebody is touching you, tickling you, or tingling in the crown of the head. These are all the signs that you are opening up and awakening to higher dimensions. We’re going to see this increase more as we move through this great shift.

I dedicated an entire chapter in my new book, Shifting into Purer Consciousness ~ Integrating Spiritual Transformation with the Human Experience to talking about the signs of ascension.

Another sign of spiritual awakening is the urge to purge through decluttering, detoxing, and simplifying life. They may be tossing, giving away, or repurposing items. More and more people are downsizing as they realize they simply don’t need so much stuff. Materialism is taking a backseat to spiritual pursuits.

Some have a sense of re-connecting with Mother Goddess by growing their own food. Doing anything to reconnect with the Earth itself is very important because it’s helps to ground some of the accelerated energies and return the Earth to its pristine origins. I can hardly stay indoors this summer. I have this urge to sit outside, walk in the woods, or get in the water. There is something definitely changing. What is happening in your life?

Ascension Training Telesummit Week 3

Today we present week three of Shifting into Purer Consciousness Ascension Training Telesummit. The topics for today are walk-ins/soul exchanges and celestial beings who assist our planet in her evolution.

 JULY 19

2:00 PM Central Time – "Walk-ins and soul exchanges"

A walk-in is a spirit who takes up residence (with permission) in the body of a soul, the walk-out, who wants to leave the Earth plane. Rather than having a healthy body die, another soul steps in and picks up where the first soul left off. This event, also referred to as a soul exchange, is a pre-incarnation agreement or a spiritual partnership between souls who are helping one another evolve. A soul exchange is always done with cooperation of both souls, and may occur during a near-death experience, while unconscious or under anesthesia, or while asleep.

There is No Such Thing as End of Time

Everything is part of a cyclical process. Even when we’re talking about the end of life and astrological cycles, these are man-made cycles.

Yet, we have heard that the Mayan calendar is coming to a close. We’ve got prophecies from the Bible and Nostradamus and people everywhere talking about the end times. It’s all over the Internet. Even one newscaster made a statement to effect that “if we’re still here after December 21, 2012 …” Unfortunately, we have a lot of fear encircling this date.

This date is actually leading us toward a very harmonious shift into something wonderful and grand. But, we have got to get past the fear-based, doomsday, catastrophic mindset regarding it in order to see the beauty of this special time and help facilitate the shift. That’s what Yvonne’s latest book is about—how to help facilitate that shift within yourself and let that flow from you to help others to make that change as well.

We are awakening spiritually to our truth that we are divine beings. There is no ending for the soul. We are all one. There’s really no separateness. We are many and we are one. We may have individual personalities, but we are still connected by spirit, even by the breath that we breathe. The air that we breathe is shared universally across the world.

We are still connected, and I think that’s one reason why we are feeling so much of the shift—the pain and sorrow of others as well as the ecstatic joy of entering into a new phase of human development. We’re leaving old things behind and we’re moving into beautiful spiritual truths and living more authentically. We’re opening to more spiritual gifts and miracles. We’re already seeing people become more telepathic in communicating with one another. We’ve seen more gifts of healing demonstrated. These are precursors to what’s coming next.

There are going to be some shifts that we have to go through but there are ways to make it easier. One thing is to stop resisting change and begin to flow with Spirit in allowing your own healing and transformation to take place. I encourage you to get into your heart space, into that centered place within you where love abides and you feel at home. There, you feel a connection with the creator, or God—whatever you want to call that creative energy. To be at one with the I AM Presence brings phenomenal peace regardless of what’s going on or what changes are taking place outside of you. Soon you will begin to radiate such love and joy, peace and light from within your heart center, that it has an effect on your outer world. That’s because our inner world affects our outer world. I think the most important about this shift is that we are awakening from within.
