Loving What Is

I want to point out the work of Byron Katie. She is an author who wrote Loving What Is. If you think of old-fashioned movies like we used to do at home with a projector and screen. As human beings we’ve gone about trying to make changes at the level of the screen. We go after the things we don’t like rather than going to the projector that is us and asking, “Is this really true?” As we go about making change it must come from a place of non-judgment.
One example Byron gives in her book is how we go to a beautiful, pristine beach and there’s a broken beer bottle. I’ve had this experience. I’ve gone to my favorite place and saw a broken beer bottle and gotten into a tizzy of anger and made up a story about who was here, how dare they do this, they are destroying my beach, and then I pick up the beer bottle. She talks about how you can simply not judge an incident, stay in serenity, peace, and love as you pick it up. The end result is the same on the material level.
When I get myself into a place of anger about somebody I don’t even know by telling myself this crazy story, I’m leaving an imprint of anger at that beach. I don’t know who is going to walk into that detrimental energy and then go home and yell at their family or how that energy is going to be passed on. If I stay in a place of centeredness and love, it leaves a clean imprint behind me. I feel that based on the research I’m doing, the greatest gift any of us can give the world and create the change we want is to be fully engaged in the wholeness, serenity, and integrity of ourselves.
This post was based on a presentation given by Kate Garvey during “Empaths Shifting into 2012: A Telesummit to Help Energy-Sensitive People Understand Their Spiritual Role on Earth,” I trust you will enjoy this article on the interconnection between spirit and humanity. You may obtain the full transcription and MP3 audio of Kate’s and Gini Grey’s presentations at http://weare1inspirit.com/spiritual-audios.htm#Kate.
