Breathe to Relax and Clear Energy

Breathing is necessary to sustain life. When we are tense or stressed we tend to hold our breath, but this only makes things worse. Conscious and focused breathing can release pent up negative energy. Five minutes of deep breaths while counting your inhalations and your exhalations can help restore a sense of calmness and regulate the heartbeat. Controlling and counting the breaths develops the concentration and focus needed to manage mental noise. Do this while sitting in a comfortable position with your spine straight.
The Book of Storms by Jadoa Alexander teaches empathic breathing, in which the breath begins by inhaling slowly through your nostrils, filling your lungs from the bottom up. When your lungs are full without straining, hold your breath to the count of four. Exhale slowly by blowing out a long silent whistle. Empty your lungs as much as you can without straining, then hold to the count of four. This cycle is considered one breath. Repeat up to ten times, relaxing and breathing normally between breaths if you need to. The goal is to build up to three sets of ten breaths, but whatever number you are able to do without feeling uncomfortable will start to work for you.

Whenever I do a breathing exercise, I sense myself moving through different states of consciousness, which really helps to quiet my mind and turn down the mental chatter in my head. If things are coming up for healing and I really sense a need for deeper clearing of old or stuck energy, I will use the breathing technique that invokes the Divine Mother energy. By taking in more life force through the breath, limiting thoughts and memories that cause problems and disease are released. This conscious, connected breathing process produces extraordinary healing results.
