Essential Oils

The oils that plants contain are essential to their growth and have distinct properties that can be used to enhance the health and well-being of your body, emotions, aura, or physical space. About twelve years ago, I learned about the benefits of using essential oils for healing and clearing. I mixed all kinds of recipes and made soap, bath salts, bath oils, candles, room fresheners, and personal fragrances.

Some of my favorites are neroli, bergamot, sandalwood, rosewood, patchouli, myrrh, and of course lavender and rose! Each essential oil has different properties. Sage, peppermint, cedar, thyme, eucalyptus, and rosemary are all great for clearing. Chamomile, orange, and lavender are wonderfully calming. A drop or two placed on your pillow at night may help you enjoy a more restful sleep. Not all essential oils can be applied directly to the skin, so I highly suggest that you study the art of aromatherapy rather than using these oils haphazardly.
See the resources section for a list of books on using essential oils.
