How can we connect with the spirit or energy of a deceased loved one?

The following article was derived from a presentation given by Gini Grey during “Empaths Shifting into 2012: A Telesummit to Help Energy-Sensitive People Understand Their Spiritual Role on Earth” on September 6, 2011.

 Someone on the telesummit asked, “How can we connect with the spirit or energy of a deceased loved one? Is this possible and if so it is part of the empathic gift?”

Gini answered thusly:

Yes, it is possible and it is part of the empathic gift. If you and the other person’s spirit both want to communicate you can do so easily. I’ve communicated with my mom, who passed away years ago, and I’ve guided other people to communicate with their loved ones. Some people (psychics/mediums) are able to connect to this realm at any time. Others don’t have the awareness to do so. But, if you are in that centered place where you are aware of yourself as spirit (where this is no fear) you can make contact.

You may not see an apparition (although you may), but with your eyes closed while in that safe place where you are aware of who you are, you can have spirit-to-spirit communication because they are not in body. You can call on your guardian angels, archangels, or ascended masters to assist with this. Get in that still place, and start sensing and observing.

The first time I did this with my mom, I started to cry because I felt her there so strongly. You may feel your loved one, smell something that reminds you of them, or you may hear them speak. For me, it’s not like I hear their voice. Instead, I just know what they are saying. I hear words without hearing their voice. Sometimes, I get a sense of what they are telling me. You can communicate with the god of your heart this way, an animal, or anything—even someone who is alive in another part of the country. Perhaps you don’t want to talk to them on the phone but you want to talk spirit to spirit to get the truth of the matter.  It’s about trusting yourself and what you sense, hear, or know. Just have the intention to be at a high vibration in order to do this.
